How to Make Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

To start, set the oven to 325 degrees and use a non-stick baking spray such as Pam to grease a 12-cup bundt pan.

Secondly, add the cake mix, eggs, sour cream, oil, sugar, and vanilla into a large mixing bowl and combine.

Thirdly, use a spatula to add in the chocolate chips and fold to combine.

Next, add the batter into the bundt pan and place it on the center rack of the oven for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick placed in the middle comes out clean of batter.

In addition, take the cake out of the oven and transfer it to a wire rack to cool thoroughly.

Furthermore, loosen up the cake using a small rubber spatula and run it along the edges, then flip the pan over onto a platter.

Can I use a different pan?

I will always recommend using the pan that is listed. This will keep you from making any measurement mistakes and will give you the best results. If needed, you can use another pan, but only if you HAVE to.

Notes

Yellow or chocolate cake mix can also be used for this recipe.
You can toss the chocolate chips with 2 teaspoons of flour before adding to the batter, this will prevent them from sinking to the bottom of the baking pan.
This cake is sweeter than a standard cake mix due to the added sugar.
I recommend using semi-sweet chocolate chips and a semi-sweet chocolate ganache if that’s the topping you choose. Dark chocolate doesn’t pair as well with the sweetness of the cake.
We used a mix of mini and regular chocolate chips.
The cake can be baked up to 3 days in advance and stored covered in the pan and will still be moist and tender.
Store at room temperature and enjoy within 5 days.

This cake was awesome! I loved it! I thought it was a pound cake and I had to double check the ingredients to make sure. I did use a little less sugar, 1/3 cup, next time I may try 1/4 cup. I put the mini chips in the dry cake mix prior to assembling it all and they still sank. The cake seemed to get more moist the longer it sat on the counter; on the third day I had to give the rest to a neighbor before I ate the whole thing! Thanks for sharing this recipe for such a delicious cake!
