Variations and Tips

  • Change the flavor – Swap out the orange cake mix and extract for lemon cake mix and extract. You’ll also want to use just a little yellow food coloring instead of orange.
  • White chocolate chips – if you don’t have white chocolate chips or don’t prefer them, you can absolutely make this recipe without them. Just skip that ingredient but otherwise make the cookies as directed.
  • Softened ingredients – make sure the butter and the cream cheese are softened. We also like to keep our eggs at room temperature when baking.
  • Use a cookie scoop – to make sure each cookie is the same size.

Took this to my coworkers at a public school. They love them! They’re so light, moist and refreshing.

  2. I made this the other night for a dinner party with my mom and aunts. I made them exactly as the recipe said and they turned out better then i thought they would. It was so good I was hoping some would be left for the next day, but nope they were all gone before i could go back for a third one. I’m new to baking and I loved how simple they were and how delicious they turned out. I will for sure make them again and again. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
