- Simple – this recipe starts with a cake mix and has a total of just 7-ingredients.
- Soft and Chewy – this combination of the orange cake mix and the cream cheese creates a perfect soft and chewy texture.
- Incredible Flavor – these cookies have the perfect amount of orange flavor and the addition of white chocolate chips just sets these cookies over the top!

Ingredients Needed
Here’s what you’ll need to make these delicious orange cake mix cream cheese cookies (the exact measurements and full recipe instructions are below in the printable recipe card):
- Orange Cake Mix – any brand will work.
- Cream cheese – softened.
- Butter – softened.
- Egg – room temperature.
- Orange extract – this adds the perfect amount of orange flavor.
- Orange food coloring – this is optional
- White chocolate chips – used in the mix and we use a few extra for the top.
- Powdered sugar – the cookies are rolled in powdered sugar before baking.

How To Make Orange Creamsicle Cookies
- Combine the butter, cream cheese, egg, orange flavor extract and orange cake mix.
- Mix in the white chocolate chips. Cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Form the dough into 24 cookie balls and roll each ball in powdered sugar.
- Line the cookie dough balls on cookie sheets. You can also press a few extra white chocolate chips to the top of each cookie.

- Bake the cookies at 350ºF for 12-13 minutes, then remove to cool on a wire cooling rack.

Storing and Freezing
- Place the baked Orange Creamsicle Cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4-5 days.
- Freeze: allow the baked cookies to cool completely. Place the baked cookies (while they are on the baking sheet) in the freezer. Once frozen, place them in a freezer-safe plastic bag and store for up to 4 weeks.

Variations and Tips
- Change the flavor – Swap out the orange cake mix and extract for lemon cake mix and extract. You’ll also want to use just a little yellow food coloring instead of orange.
- White chocolate chips – if you don’t have white chocolate chips or don’t prefer them, you can absolutely make this recipe without them. Just skip that ingredient but otherwise make the cookies as directed.
- Softened ingredients – make sure the butter and the cream cheese are softened. We also like to keep our eggs at room temperature when baking.
- Use a cookie scoop – to make sure each cookie is the same size.

Easy recipe for an absolutely DELICIOUS cookie. The recipe made more than 24 cookies. How big were the cookie balls supposed to be?
This recipe is just incredible. Easy to make and the best flavor.
Our County Fair had a category of “TRICKS WITH A MIX”, so I did your Orange Creamsicle Cookies. They won First Place!! I tried to attach the photo but it wouldn’t let me do it here. My husband loved these cookies. Thank you for posting the recipe and if I could, I would send the blue ribbon to you.

Made these and they were very good. Had a hard time finding orange cake mix but managed. I might try lemon or strawberry next. I’m sure your family will like them.
