How to Make Honey Biscuits

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Using a pastry blender, a fork, or two knives, cut the cold butter and cream cheese into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse sand or crumbs.

The very small bits of butter and cream cheese are good and will help make the biscuits nice and flaky.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead just until it comes together into a ball. Flatten the dough out into a circle, about 3/4-inch in thickness. Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut out round biscuits, then re-roll the extra pieces of dough to cut out the remaining biscuits.

What to Serve with the Biscuits

Gravy – Although these biscuits are lightly sweetened with the honey butter glaze, they do still go great with sausage gravy. Just split them open and spoon the gravy over the biscuit halves.

Whipped Honey Butter – The chilled whipped honey butter is a delicious accompaniment to these biscuits.

Butter and Jam – Sweet cream butter and your favorite jam is a classic choice and great with the biscuits.

Sandwiches – Split the biscuits open and fill with eggs, cheese, and breakfast meat such as bacon, ham, or a sausage patty for a filling breakfast sandwich.
