We decided to make shepherd’s pie for the first time (I know that seems weird) last night for dinner. We ended up turning them into Mini Sheep Shepherd Pie’s!:) We think they turned out so cute & my boys thought they were adorable! Very easy to make as well.
Mini Shepherd’s Sheep Pie
Pillsbury Grands Homestyle Biscuits
Mashed Potatoes (we used pre-made)
Ground Turkey
1/2 Onion (chopped)
1/3 cup Ketchup
1/2 tsp. Garlic
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 Black Olive
Start out by heating your oven to 375. Spray a muffin pan with cooking spray. Press each biscuit on the bottoms & sides. Saute the onion & then add the ground turkey & garlic. Drain after cooking. Sprinkle some cheese on the bottom of the biscuits then fill with the ground turkey. We added just a little more cheese on top of the ground turkey. You will have a little bit of turkey left over to decorate the tops. Pipe on the cooked mashed potatoes using a icing bag or baggie with the corner snipped off. Use your left over ground turkey to make the head, ears, & feet. Then pipe a little more mashed potatoes on top.
This is what they looked like before baking…
Bake at 375 for about 20-25 minutes. We used a little bit of mashed potatoes make the eyes. We cut up a black olive to make the pupils & nose.
Aren’t they SO cute?! Here is a close up…
