For a long time, I’ve found all sorts of uses for dryer sheets. I love the smell, but I also need to make money go as far as I can.

That’s why I do a lot more with (new and used) dryer sheets than simply toss them in my laundry.

1. Shine up chrome. Dampen a used dryer sheet and shine up the bathroom faucet or toaster.

2. Keep your scissors sharp by wiping the blades with a used sheet between uses.

3. Buh-bye pet hair!  Rub a dryer sheet over your sofa, bed, etc and it’ll gather up all that hair from your fur baby.

4. Clean oven racks. Soak them overnight in some Dawn dishwashing liquid with some dryer sheets thrown in. The dirt and grime will wipe off easy the next day.

5. Put them in your drawers and they’ll make your clothes smell fresh and clean for a long time.

6. Ward off gnats and mosquitoes. Put a fresh sheet in your pocket and leave a little sticking out. Those flying little monsters don’t like the smell. Same with Mice!

7. A used dryer sheet is the best dusting cloth ever. Shelves, floors, lamps, you name it.

8. Dirty pots and pans are no match for a dryer sheet. Soak your pan in water, dishwashing soap, and a dryer sheet for about an hour.

That burned on goo that was stuck before will come right off.

9. One of the great uses for dryer sheets is the smelly shoes solution. Cut a fresh sheet in half and put one half in each shoe.

10. Clean paint brushes. Soak the in warm water with a dryer sheet for a couple hours.

11. Banish soap scum on shower doors. One of the uses for dryer sheets most people don’t know is how to use them to clean shower doors. Just wet a fresh sheet and scrub. They’re amazing.

12. Flyaway hair can be tamed by rubbing a used dryer sheet on your hair.

How long do they work for spiders, mice and other rodents

When my kitty cat gets shocks from static electricity, I petted her back with one. Worked like a charm.

Great for cleaning bugs off your car. 

You can use new dryer sheets when washing your vehicle for the bugs on your bumper

Use on the window screen. Makes them almost disappear. Be careful with door screens. Our Daughter has tried walking through more than once after I’ve cleaned them that way.
I do the inside first to get the most of the dust to the outdoors. Then go outside, shutting the door, and do the outside of the screen. Its amazing! Clean glass after screen is done. The dirty and dust just flies off.

Dry spots of laundry soap on floor or washer? Grab a used dry dryer sheet and rub it off. Flip to a cleanse tigon and polish it. Like it was never there. The trick is to do it dry or it smears all over.

When those nasty bugs get on the front of your car, dampen a dryer sheet and rub the bugs right off!  Works like a charm. 

When it rains, rub a dryer sheet over your wet dog(s) and they don’t smell like wet dog, they smell much nicer. I start with a new dryer sheet and re-use it many times. Then it can be used to wipe the floor by the door too.

I use new dryer sheets for getting that stubborn kitchen grease and grime off my plastic toaster and fridge and back splash behind the stove… really any where that there is stubborn grease from cooking in your kitchen… a fresh dryer sheet will get it right up!!

A used dryer sheet to clean out dryer lint.

Clean sticky residue off your iron’s soleplate. Hold the dryer sheet against the edge of the ironing board & wipe the hot iron over the dryer sheet a few times. Voila! A clean iron!

I put Two Dryer sheets in my mail box no more Spiders, I use them for a lot of things!!!

I put them in my outside bin for my furniture cushions- keeps them from getting musty and (so far) no spiders, bugs or varmints!

Use a wet dryer sheet to clean bugs off the front of a car.

I use dryer sheets in every drawer in our RV.  I never have any spiders, ants or other insects.  And of course makes everything smell great!

If you live in an area that has Love Bugs, use a wet dryer sheet to remove them from your car before the goo causes paint problems.

You know that silver of soap we all save until it goes to mush? Here’s what we do with them.
Place a bit of the soap sliver onto a used dryer sheet, fold in half & stitch on all 4 sides (or do a circle of stitching). Now what?
Hang one by the outside faucet & wash your hands off or send them to camp with the kids! These are great little disposable washcloths that don’t have to be toted back to get stuck inside a suitcase.
Firm enough to get a youngin’ clean but soft enough to not take off hide.

Used dryer sheets in layers between masks when sewing- extra filter to breath through and fresh smelling.

I was at a car wash waiting my turn when a you g man came up to me and asked if I had any dryer sheets. I said no, he pulled out a few he had and I said what are these for? He told me to wet one and use it to remove the dead bugs on my cars hood and windshield. I tried it on the front of my car and Presto, no dead bugs and clean car.
