I made these for our Wednesday night bible study supper at church. We had 9 students from the college in our town that night and they ate every one of the double recipe I made. I like to think of recipes as suggestions, so I used two different types of cheese inside (sliced cheddar and the pepper jack between ham layers). They were definitely a hit!

  2. Super recipe and wouldn’t change a thing. You could probably use any meat and flavorful cheese. My question is how best to save leftover sandwiches?

    1. Thanks Bill. We usually keep any leftovers in the dish with a lid or foil over it and reheat in the oven or individually in the microwave.

These are a huge hit in our house! I used a 9×13 pan instead of an 11×7 because it’s what I had on hand. Wouldn’t change a thing!

This was so good! Used one can of crescents and halved it. Used Bavarian mustard with a little stone ground crafted mustard with a small amount of honey added because the ham was regular Boars Head boiled ham. Husband loved it!

  5. I am wondering about the amount of ham. The recipe says 12 slices but the picture looks like it has double the amount?

  6. Haven’t tried this recipe yet, but I can see how easily you could turn this into Cuban sandwiches with pickles and some pulled pork…definitely gonna try this!!

  7. Super easy recipe. I have a large group of grand kids. I liked being able to double and triple the recipe. Really good. Used honey mustard, cheddar, and honey ham for the younger crowd. Turned out really well.

I made this for my family. I was surprised my picky eater liked it. She said “what is this it’s really good. I’ll have another slice please”. We paired it with tomato soup. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

This was delicious!  A real hit with everyone in the family from 4 to 90.  For our vegetarians, I used portobello mushrooms instead of ham.
