Peanut Butter Ball Tips:

  • You can use any nut butters for this recipe. Almond butter, cashew butter, etc…
  • Make sure the balls are chilled before dipping.
  • We love these Chocolate Dipping Tools, but you can always use a fork for dipping. A toothpick will also work. Expect a bit of a mess, but it will work.
  • You can melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30- second increments, or over a double boiler.
  • You can use chunky peanut butter instead of creamy if you prefer. We also like to add in Rice Krispies sometimes for some texture.
  • Add any type of holiday sprinkles, chopped peanuts, sea salt or whatever you prefer. It’s all good!

I just have a question about this recipe. Vegetable shortening or coconut oil are listed as optional ingredients, but there’s no instruction for them. Are they combined with the chocolate? That’s my assumption? As I’m typing this, I realize I could look this up instead of posting this. Hmmm. Well, I’ve tried many of your recipes before and they’ve all been great. Thank you.

    1. Jill says:

Thanks Thomas. Yes, you can use the shortening or coconut oil in the chocolate. It helps with the consistency and adds a little shine to the chocolate.

Used maple extract instead. Super tasty. Also added honey roasted peanuts.

    1. Jill says:

      Thank you Lexi!

    2. Thomas says:

Used maple extract instead? Instead of what? It’s not really a substitute for any of the listed ingredients….
