Smoked Sausage and Potatoes Recipe

I love one-pan dinners for so many reasons. The biggest one is easy cleanup! As a mom, I already spend so much time in the kitchen making dinner for the whole family and if a recipe only takes one pan to make, I’m sold. This one is special because it uses kielbasa. It’s so flavorful and delicious. I pair it with crispy golden potatoes. Trust me, they are a match made in heaven!

This sheet pan sausage and potato recipe is also very versatile. You can change up the seasonings to your liking! I love adding red pepper flakes for a kick but if you can use paprika or chili powder instead. Obviously, changing the flavor profile can make it feel like an entirely new meal.

Smoked sausage is such an underrated ingredient! It can be used in so many different ways. Try making Jambalaya or Crockpot Cajun Chicken Alfredo for dinner next time.

What You’ll Need

There are minimal ingredients needed to make yummy and filling sausage and potatoes. Scroll below to find the exact measurements on the recipe card.

  • Seasonings: For this recipe, I use seasoned salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. You can easily use regular salt if you prefer.
  • Potatoes: Yukon gold potatoes are my top pick for fried potatoes and sausage. Russets work great, too.
  • Kielbasa: You can use any variety of smoked sausage but I feel kielbasa has the most flavor but turkey sausage can be used if you prefer.
  • Onion: Make sure the onion is diced finely. White or yellow onion will work beautifully.
  • Garlic: Fresh garlic is one of my favorite ingredients. It goes so well with sausage and potatoes.
  • Olive oil: Avocado oil or vegetable oil can be used here as well.

Tips and Variations

  • Don’t peel the potatoes. Don’t peel the potatoes for this recipe unless you want to. The texture the skin gets once it crisps up in the oven adds to the taste.
  • Add more red pepper. If you like spice, add a touch more red pepper flakes or some cayenne.
  • Use more veggies. Feel free to include sliced bell peppers or even broccoli florets in this recipe

Storage Directions

  • Fridge. When storing leftover sausage and potatoes use a airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for 3-4 days. I don’t recommended freezing leftovers as the texture isn’t the same when it’s defrosted and reheated.
  • Reheat. The leftovers heat well in a microwave in a pinch. Or you can add them to a skillet and gently warm over medium-low heat.
