  • Butter- Use unsalted butter to control the amount of salt in the recipe.
  • Sugar- Every dessert recipe uses sugar as an ingredient.
  • Vanilla- Use the pure extract for the best flavoring.
  • Eggs- Use these at room temperature.
  • Milk- Use whole or 2% milk.
  • Flour- Use all-purpose flour for the best results.
  • Baking Soda- This will allow the ingredients to double in size.
  • Salt- This will bring out the flavors in the recipe.
  • Strawberries- Dice some fresh strawberries.
  • Cream Cheese- Use softened or at room temperature.
  • Powdered Sugar- This is the best sugar for homemade icing.

How to Make Strawberry Pound Cake

Start off the recipe by setting the oven to 350 degrees, then use Pam baking spray to grease a loaf pan.

Next, add the flour, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl and combine.

Then, add the butter, sugar, and vanilla into a separate bowl and combine until fluffy.

One at a time, add in the eggs and beat to combine.

Pour in the milk and beat again.

Slowly combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.

Use a spatula to fold in the prepared strawberries.

Next, pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and place it into the oven for 45-55 minutes or until the recipe is golden brown and you can place a toothpick in the middle and once it comes out clean of batter, it’s done.

Remove the pan from the oven and set it on the counter to cool for 15 minutes before taking it out and transferring it to a cooling wrap.

Cream cheese glaze

Begin the glaze by adding all the ingredients into a large bowl and beat until smooth and combined.

Next, use a spatula to spread the glaze on top of the pound cake.

Finally, put the cake into the fridge to let the glaze harden.

When ready, cut into slices and serve!

Should I Use Fresh or Frozen Strawberries?

Using fresh ingredients is always the best for flavoring. This recipe uses fresh diced strawberries. However, you can use frozen if you have them.
