Dessert dips are my go-to when I need a quick, easy, and shareable dessert without a lot of effort. Many of them, like pumpkin pie dip and brownie batter dip, are made with a cream cheese base and just a few extra ingredients. This caramel apple dip is no exception, and it’s one of my favorite fall desserts.

This dip is made with cream cheese, brown sugar, and caramel sauce, plus some toffee bits for added crunch. It takes a whopping 5 minutes and 7 ingredients to prepare, with no baking required. Just slice up an apple or two, and you have a yummy, shareable dessert ready to enjoy!

Why This Caramel Apple Dip Is So Good

  • 5 minute prep. This cream cheese caramel apple dip comes together in just 5 minutes, with no baking required. It’s perfect for busy nights, last-minute guests, or when you need a dessert but don’t want to turn the oven on.
  • Sweet and creamy. This dip has a cream cheese base, which adds just enough tang to balance the brown sugar and caramel sauce on top. Using softened cream cheese and an electric mixer creates a smooth, creamy base.
  • Perfect for parties. I love serving this dip at fall gatherings and potlucks. It’s a fun alternative to pumpkin-everything and it’s made for sharing.

Ingredient Notes

Here’s an overview of the few ingredients required to make this yummy dessert dip. Be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the exact measurements.

  • Cream cheese – Be sure to use brick-style cream cheese and make sure it’s very soft for easy blending.
  • Light brown sugar – You could also use dark brown sugar for a deeper molasses flavor.
  • Vanilla extract – A little vanilla adds some extra cozy, comforting vibes.
  • Ground cinnamon – Adding some cinnamon adds warmth to the dip.
  • Sea salt – Adding some salt helps to balance the sweet flavors in this dip.
  • Caramel sauce – I like to use my homemade caramel sauce. If you get it at the store, look for the caramel sundae sauce in a jar or tub, not the thin caramel drizzle in the squeeze bottle.
  • Chopped toffee bits – You can find these in the baking aisle of your supermarket. They add a little bit of crunchy finish to the dip.

Tips & Tricks

This caramel apple dip is super simple to make, but I still have a few tips for getting it just right the first time.

  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened. This helps you get a smooth, lump-free dip in just a few minutes.
  • Use a hand mixer. It will whip some air into the mixture to create a light, fluffy texture that’s easier to scoop and dip.
  • Chill before serving. Just 30 minutes helps the layers set and makes the dip easier to serve and scoop.
  • Slice apples right before serving. This keeps them fresh and prevents browning. If you need to prep them ahead, just toss them in a little lemon juice or even lemon lime soda. The acid will slow down the browning.
  • Use a wide, shallow dish. This makes it easier for little hands to scoop up all the layers in one bite. I just used a salad plate.

Dip Variations

It’s always fun to make a recipe your own! Here are some ideas for customizing this one.

  • Add some chocolate. Mix in mini chocolate chips with the toffee bits and chopped nuts for the perfect sweet snack.
  • Make it tropical. Add sweetened shaved coconut flakes and chocolate drizzle for a Girl Scout cookie vibe.
  • Lighten it up. Replace half of the cream cheese with Greek yogurt for a slightly lighter version.
  • Make individual cups. Just add a layer of the cream cheese base and top with caramel and toppings. Toss a few dippers right into the cup for a sweet treat that guests can walk and talk with.
  • Add extra spices. Stir in a bit of apple pie spice for a dip that feels like your favorite fall sweater.
  • Make it pumpkin. Add a spoonful of canned pumpkin to the cream cheese mixture for PSL flavors.

What To Serve It With

The obvious thing to serve this caramel apple dip with is apple slices. Any apple works, but tart Granny Smith apples are my favorite to pair with the sweet dip. Pink Lady and Gala are other good options if you prefer red apples.

Graham crackers, pretzels, and Nilla wafers also work well with this dip. I love the contrast of salty pretzels with the sweet dip!

Proper Storage

Store any leftover cream cheese apple dip in an airtight container in the fridge. It’s best enjoyed within 4-5 days.
