Ingredients

  • Stale Bread- You can use any type and if not stale, lightly toast.
  • Eggs- This will help with the form of your bread pudding.
  • Milk or cream- You can use whole or 2 % Milk
  • Brown sugar- This will allow for a richer taste.
  • Maple extract- You can use pure maple extract for the best taste.
  • Cinnamon- You can ground your own ingredients or but pre-made spices.
  • Nutmeg- The nutmeg will add the amazing aroma to your dish.
  • Apples- Make sure your apples are peeled and chopped
  • Raisins- You can buy any type of raisins.
  • Butter- Always use unsalted butter to control the salt in the dish.
  • Heavy cream- This will be used for additional topping.
  • Rum extract- You can substitute with ¼ cup real rum if you like.
  • Vanilla extract- Always best to use pure vanilla for best flavor.

How to Make Instant Pot Bread Pudding

Add your eggs, milk, brown sugar, maple extract, cinnamon and nutmeg together and whisk.

Combine apples, raisins and bread ingredients in a separate medium bowl.

Add in your liquid mixture over bread mixture. For a few minutes let your ingredients sit to absorb, then stir.

Pour mixture into prepared pan, then with foil close off your pan, sealing edges.

Using a measuring cup, add in 1½ cups of water to bottom of the Instant Pot.

Set your pan on trivet and gently place into Instant Pot.

Close Instant Pot and for 25 minutes place on manual high pressure.

When the time is up, let the Instant Pot to sit for 10 minutes, then release pressure and take out the bread pudding from the pot. Take the foil off and allow to cool. Gently fold up around edges with a butter knife, then flip upside down over a plate. It should fall right out.

Dig in and enjoy with Vanilla Rum Sauce and whipped cream.

Vanilla Rum Sauce

Over medium heat, warm all ingredients in a saucepan, stirring regularly until mixture thickens slightly. Don’t let it boil.

Take off the heat and allow to cool. Using a spoon, add all over Bread Pudding.

Ingredients
  

Apple Bread Pudding

  • 7 c stale cubed bread any type If not stale, lightly toast.
  • 3 lg eggs
  • c milk or cream
  • 2 c brown sugar
  • 2 tsp maple extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 medium apples peeled and chopped
  • ½ c raisins

Vanilla Rum Sauce

  • 4 oz butter
  • ¼ c brown sugar
  • c heavy cream
  • 1 tsp rum extract can substitute with ¼ cup real rum if you like
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Apple Bread Pudding

  • Whisk together, eggs, milk, brown sugar, maple extract, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • In a separate bowl, combine apples, raisins and bread.
  • Pour liquid mixture over bread mixture. Allow to sit for a few minutes to absorb, then stir.
  • Pour mixture into prepared pan, then cover pan with foil, sealing edges.
  • Add 1½ cups of water to bottom of the Instant Pot.
  • Place pan on trivet and lower into Instant Pot.
  • Seal Instant Pot and set to manual high pressure for 25 minutes.
  • After time is up, allow Instant Pot to sit for 10 minutes, then release pressure and remove bread pudding from the Instant Pot. Remove foil and allow to cool. loosen around edges with a butter knife, then turn upside down over a serving plate. It should pop right out.
  • Serve with Vanilla Rum Sauce and whipped cream.

Vanilla Rum Sauce

  • Heat all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly. Do not allow to boil.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool. Spoon over Bread Pudding.
