The Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make the Oreo Rice Krispie Treats (the exact measurements and full recipe instructions are below in the printable recipe card):

  • Rice Krispies – I used a store brand “crispy rice” cereal and it was perfect. Use any brand you like.
  • Oreo cookies – I used the regular Oreos, but the double stuffed could also work in this recipe.
  • Butter
  • Mini marshmallows – Please know that you may need 2 bags of marshmallows to have enough for this recipe.
  • Salt

Additions

In addition to the Oreos cookies, here are some other mix-in ideas:

  • Golden Oreos
  • Dried cranberries
  • Peanut butter chips
  • White chocolate chips
  • Colorful sprinkles

How to Store the Leftovers

Keep the rice krispie treats in an airtight food storage container or a zip-top bag. They will stay fresh at room temperature for up to a week. Refrigerating the krispie treats will make them very hard, so if you need to keep them in the refrigerator, be sure to let them come to room temperature again before serving.

Such a yummy quick treat! A secret I learned awhile ago is to let your butter just get a tiny bit browned before adding the marshmallows. Takes up a notch. Also added a 1/4 tsp vanilla. Thanks for the great recipe!

Easy and delicious. I had to hurry and make this or the marshmallows and cookies would have disappeared. We used non dairy butter and it came out great. We couldn’t wait till they set and started eating them in scoops right away. Even the picky Mr liked them.
