Peanut Butter Ball Tips:
- You can use any nut butters for this recipe. Almond butter, cashew butter, etc…
- Make sure the balls are chilled before dipping.
- We love these Chocolate Dipping Tools, but you can always use a fork for dipping. A toothpick will also work. Expect a bit of a mess, but it will work.
- You can melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30- second increments, or over a double boiler.
- You can use chunky peanut butter instead of creamy if you prefer. We also like to add in Rice Krispies sometimes for some texture.
- Add any type of holiday sprinkles, chopped peanuts, sea salt or whatever you prefer. It’s all good!

For some reason it wouldn’t let me send a five star rating but that is what I would like to give this recipe. It was simple and to the point with very clear and uncomplicated instructions. I am baking with my granddaughter tomorrow and am sure going to use this recipe.

I have been making these peanut butter balls with my mother for the longest time and and she passed away in 2021. So, I could not remember the whole process so I used this recipe to relive the moment again and this recipe was the best recipe I’ve made with these peanut butter balls. The peanut butter part was my favorite. I don’t think we’ve ever used the butter and the recipe and that made it amazing. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks Crystal! So happy that this recipe helped to revive those great memories with your mom.
So, what do you do with the optional vegetable / coconut oil?
Hi Gina. You can add one tablespoon of shortening or coconut oil to the chocolate to help make the consistency smoother and it also gives the chocolate a nice sheen.
Love these easy recipes.
My husband has requested that I make more twice since the first time I made them.
Glad he likes them! Thanks Cindy!

Hi Abby. Results will vary due to the size of the ball but most are getting around 15 balls per batch.

Where and what is the coconut oil used for and where do I put it in the cookie mix. It seems to have been omitted from the instructions.. can you help.
Hi Lorraine. You can add one tablespoon of shortening or coconut oil to the chocolate to help make the consistency smoother and it also gives the chocolate a nice sheen.
You put the coconut oil in the chocolate chips so that the chocolate won’t be so thick when dipping the balls.
My husband LOVES peanut butter, so these were the perfect treat for him and he thought they were delicious!!! I thought they were pretty awesome too! I added a tsp of vanilla also
