Vampire Kiss Shots

These Vampire Kiss Shots are the perfect party drink for your next Halloween bash! They’re made with a party favorite, Fireball, so they’ll definitely get you in the spooky spirit. Plus, they’re easy to make.

They look almost too good to eat (but trust us, you’ll want to). Serve them up at your next party and watch them disappear in no time. Guests will love getting into the Halloween spirit with these festive shots.

Key Ingredients You’ll Need

Cherry Jello: You will use cherry to give a bloody red vampire color to these shots. You can use other jellos and use red coloring gel to have different flavors. You will dissolve the jello in boiling water and mix it with cold water.

Fireball Whiskey: This will be absorbed into the jello for the alcohol and will add additional flavoring.

Food Coloring Gel: You will need black food coloring gel. Gel food coloring works the best when compared to liquid food coloring.

Maraschino Cherries: These will be used for garnish and can be topped with some red sprinkles as well if desired for more decoration.

How To Make Vampire Kiss Jello Shots

Step 1. Add the cherry jello and boiling water to a medium bowl and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Pour in the whiskey and cold water and combine again. Place 1/4 cup of the jello mixture into a smaller bowl and combine with a few drops of black food coloring and whisk to combine. Pour the red jello into the shot glasses about 3/4 of the way before setting it in the fridge to chill for 90 minutes.

Step 2. When the red layer is firm and set, pour the black jello carefully on top of the red layer and put it back in the fridge to chill for an additional 90 minutes until set. Top with a cherry and sprinkles if desired. Serve and enjoy!

What Can I Use Instead of Fireball

If you don’t want to use Fireball, you can use another type of whiskey. Just be aware that the flavor will be different. We recommend using cinnamon whiskey for these shots.

You could also use vodka instead of whiskey. Again, the flavor will be different, but it will still be delicious.

If you want to avoid alcohol altogether, you could use apple cider instead of whiskey. Just be sure to use a non-alcoholic version so your guests don’t get too crazy.

How to Make Layers in Jello Shots

When making these shots, you are going to make layers with the Jello. To make the layers, you want to make the red layer and then place it in the cups. Place it in the refrigerator to set. Once it has begun to be partially set, remove the cups and add the next layer.

    1. Hi Lori. The black Jello shouldn’t set in that timeframe on the counter while the red is in the refrigerator. It should still be able to pour.

    2. Just started making these and realized all the jello mixture is done at the same time‍♀️
