Ingredients Needed

Here’s what you’ll need to make the Creamy Grape Salad (the exact measurements and full recipe instructions are below in the easy to print recipe card).

  • Cream cheese – regular full-fat or low-fat is fine to use. I do not recommend fat-free.
  • Sour cream – full-fat sour cream is best.
  • Vanilla – pure vanilla extract give a wonderful flavor.
  • Grapes – the mixture of red and green grapes makes this salad really pretty, but feel free to use any grape that you prefer! Just make sure to use seedless grapes.
  • Sugars – you need white granulated sugar for the cream mixture and brown sugar to sprinkle on top (this adds such a nice flavor and texture).
  • Pecans – I like to use toasted pecans.

What To Serve With Grape Salad

This is an easy side salad you can serve with brunch, lunch, dinner or even have for dessert!

Storing Leftovers

Keep the leftover grape salad in an airtight food storage container and refrigerate for up to three days. Stir well before serving again.

If you are making ahead, store in an airtight container or cover with plastic wrap for up to 2 days in the refrigerator. Wait until serving to add the brown sugar and pecan topping.

Tips and Variations

Cutting the Grapes – If you’ll have little ones or people who might prefer their grapes cut, you can slice them before mixing with the dressing. Just be aware that the grapes will very quickly begin to release juices into the salad, which will mess with the texture. If cutting the grapes, be sure to serve the salad immediately.

Wash the Grapes – Be sure to wash your grapes really well and then dry them. I laid them out and dried them on towels. If the grapes are wet the dressing won’t stick well.

Nuts – feel free to replace the pecans with any nuts that you prefer like walnuts, pistachios, almonds, etc…

Adjust the Sugar – I love this grape salad as is with sweetness, but you can adjust the amount of sugar to taste. Start with half the amount, taste, and adjust as needed.

I substituted the sour cream with hung yogurt. The result was delicious and refreshing too.

      Great substitute Bina. Thanks!

I substitute crushed butterfinger candy instead of pecans to make it nut free. When doing this, I omit the brown sugar as well.
