Ingredients Needed
You only need 4-ingredients!
- Biscuit Dough – I like to use Pillsbury Grands biscuits (Southern Style of Flaky).
- Coating – a mixture of ground cinnamon and sugar is used to cover the biscuits after they are air fried.
- Butter – melted butter is used to cover the biscuits for the cinnamon sugar mixture to stick.

How To Make Donuts In An Air Fryer
By using the air fryer, this only takes about 5-minutes of prep and 10-minutes of cooking time – So easy!
- Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees. To do this, simply turn your air fryer on at 330 degrees and let it run for about 3-5 minutes.
- Mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.
- Cut the center out of each biscuit using a round cookie cutter. Lightly coat air fryer basket with cooking spray (like coconut oil spray).

- Place the donuts (not holes), in a single layer of your air fryer and bake for 5 minutes at 360 degrees. As the doughnuts are cooking, melt the butter.
- Coat the baked doughnuts with your melted butter and cover the donuts with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve and enjoy!
How To Make Air Fryer Donut Holes
When you air fry the “holes”, set your timer for 3 minutes and repeat the process of dipping in butter and then adding the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Optional Topping
If you are a bigger fan of chocolate glaze instead of the cinnamon sugar coating, we got you covered!
Chocolate Glaze Recipe
Once cooked, dip the donuts in chocolate glaze.
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon light corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Melt the ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring. Dip the donuts in the chocolate glaze or spread the glaze on top of the donuts using a knife.
Tips
Storing – Store the air fried donuts in an airtight container to keep them from going stale for 3-4 days.
Cooking spray – I recommend using coconut oil spray. Do not use non-stick spray like Pam (those sprays could be harmful to your air fryer).
Optional toppings – Feel free to change the cinnamon sugar coating to any other toppings you prefer. Use the chocolate glaze recipe we provided above or just make a simple vanilla glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk. You can frost the tops using Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting, Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, Vanilla Buttercream Frosting, Peanut Butter Frosting or Cream Cheese Frosting.

Ohmyword! I’m so excited to try these! These donuts (fried in Crisco) have been a Saturday morning treat since I was a little girl. About 10 years ago I just started quartering the biscuits & calling them beignets I told my girls we should make these all at the same time since we all live in different parts of the country’
If you use 2 cup powder sugar 2tbof milk in and dip them in then you will have glaze donuts it was good to
The donuts were absolutely delicious. I definitely will be making these again.
Make these!!!! Big hit!
These were absolutely delicious!!
Could you please explain why you set oven to 330 and not 360? Thank you
If you don’t pre heat won’t turn out. Preheat at 330 then turn to 360 to make.
Just made these with my daughter and she loved them!!
Way back when, these were all the rage and deep fried. Instead of cutting out a donut hole, you can put your finger through the center of the biscuit or use something else to poke through. No donut hole, unless you want one. I will be trying these soon.
Definitely satisfied my urge when I wanted a donut from the bakery! Easy! Thanks.
So these were yummy. The only problem I had was the layers of the flaky biscuits separated.
