If you do not currently own an air fryer, let this be the recipe that convinces you to buy one. • Coconut Oil Cooking Spray
Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut broken in half

How To Make Donuts In An Air Fryer

  • Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees. To do this, simply turn your air fryer on at 330 degrees and let it run for about 3-5 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.
  • Open the can of flaky biscuits and cut the center out of each one using a 1-inch round cutter. Lightly coat air fryer basket with coconut oil spray (you can also use olive oil spray). Do not use non-stick spray like Pam (those sprays could be harmful to your air fryer).
  • Place the donuts (not holes), in your air fryer. Bake for 5 minutes at 360 degrees. As the doughnuts are cooking, melt the butter.
  • Using a silicone pastry brush, coat the baked doughnuts with your melted butter. Then cover the donuts with the cinnamon sugar mixture by dipping and rolling around. Use a spoon to coat the top as well. Gently shake off excess cinnamon sugar. Serve doughnuts hot.

Air Fryer Donut Holes

When you air fry the “holes”, set your timer for 3 minutes and repeat the process of dipping in butter and then adding the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

  1. Cut the biscuits into 3 pieces and stretched/twisted them into donut sticks. Still 3minutes cook time. Sprinkled half with cinnamon powdered sugar.

JILL I have followed your posts since you started. I know the boys have grown and would love to see current pictures. You might even have daughters- in -love now too. Your ideas are always so good and a quick easy process. Thanks.

    1. Thanks so much Joan! Yes, my boys are growing way too fast. No daughter-in-laws yet though! Hopefully one day!

    1. I just made in my oven fryer and it only has 1 setting 400. So I set it for 5 minutes to warm up them popped them in for 5 minutes
I took a look and they still needed more time so I set the timer for 2-3 more minutes and waited till they were turning brown on top. That’s it

  3. They turned out really good but 5 minutes is not nearly enough time to get them completely done so I suggest to put it on like 7 minutes and see that gets them completely done it also has a little bit of a doughy taste but my kids love them so I’ll definitely try them again

I was a little leery that they would have that biscuit flavor, but not at all!!! These were super easy and super scrumptious! Definitely a keeper.

    1. I was thinking the same thing about using biscuit dough. Have to try these, maybe tomorrow

We have been making THESE for 50 yrs & do not have air fryer. Mine is easier, simpler & great. Note use of 2L cola bottle cap.
1 tube Biscuits–(can be buttermilk, flaky etc)
Hot vegetable oil in deep-fryer/FryBaby or skillet
    baggie w/ 1/2 C Confectioners Sugar
baggie w/ 1/2 C Granulated sugar + 1 tsp Cinnamon ( shake well to mix)
    Cap from a 2 L soda bottle

–After laying out the biscuits on clean flat table, press bottle cap into each center
& you have a donut + the hole. Fry about 3 @ a time on both sides, & don’t forget the holes. After sitting on a paper towel for a minute, place into either sugar bag preferred.

    1. While that sounds tasty – albeit greasy, it also negates the whole point of an air fryer and adapting to a healthy but tasty lifestyle.
