How To Make Donuts In An Air Fryer

  • Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees. To do this, simply turn your air fryer on at 330 degrees and let it run for about 3-5 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.
  • Open the can of flaky biscuits and cut the center out of each one using a 1-inch round cutter. Lightly coat air fryer basket with coconut oil spray (you can also use olive oil spray). Do not use non-stick spray like Pam (those sprays could be harmful to your air fryer).
  • Place the donuts (not holes), in your air fryer. Bake for 5 minutes at 360 degrees. As the doughnuts are cooking, melt the butter.
  • Using a silicone pastry brush, coat the baked doughnuts with your melted butter. Then cover the donuts with the cinnamon sugar mixture by dipping and rolling around. Use a spoon to coat the top as well. Gently shake off excess cinnamon sugar. Serve doughnuts hot.

Air Fryer Donut Holes

When you air fry the “holes”, set your timer for 3 minutes and repeat the process of dipping in butter and then adding the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

JILL I have followed your posts since you started. I know the boys have grown and would love to see current pictures. You might even have daughters- in -love now too. Your ideas are always so good and a quick easy process. Thanks.

    1. Thanks so much Joan! Yes, my boys are growing way too fast. No daughter-in-laws yet though! Hopefully one day!

I was a little leery that they would have that biscuit flavor, but not at all!!! These were super easy and super scrumptious! Definitely a keeper.

    1. I was thinking the same thing about using biscuit dough. Have to try these, maybe tomorrow

Made some with powdered sugar and some with cinnamon sugar. We loved them. My 2 year old grandson ate an entire doughnut!

We have been making THESE for 50 yrs & do not have air fryer. Mine is easier, simpler & great. Note use of 2L cola bottle cap.
1 tube Biscuits–(can be buttermilk, flaky etc)
Hot vegetable oil in deep-fryer/FryBaby or skillet
    baggie w/ 1/2 C Confectioners Sugar
baggie w/ 1/2 C Granulated sugar + 1 tsp Cinnamon ( shake well to mix)
    Cap from a 2 L soda bottle

–After laying out the biscuits on clean flat table, press bottle cap into each center
& you have a donut + the hole. Fry about 3 @ a time on both sides, & don’t forget the holes. After sitting on a paper towel for a minute, place into either sugar bag preferred.

So yummy! I split the recipe and made biscuits and gravy with half the biscuits and donuts with the other half. Thank you for the recipe!

I made these this morning, absolutely the best yet! So easy to make and you could not even tell they were biscuits! Will definitely make them again!

  8. I want to like these BUT canned donuts have a very distinct flavor that is overpowering. Pilsbury frozen biscuits are a great alternative for biscuits and gravy or sweet things.

Made the cinnamon and sugar donuts. Mine came out pretty good. But the inside was a little doughy. Either I cook them longer or slice biscuit dough in half to make it thinner

    1. I made these today. They were great. Ended up cooking a little longer. My son loved them.

So easy for a quick weekend family treat. The saltiness from the biscuit balances the sweet so well. I did need to do the donut holes for 5 min to be done but mine were a tad bigger. I didn’t have a circle cutter and used a champagne flute instead so that might have been the issue.

So I ran of bread for morning toast. I was just going to bake a can of biscuits, but then remembered seeing this recipe. Glad I did. These were fun and easy to make. Even dad liked them. My only reminder is serve warm, when cooled they have a more biscuity flavor and texture.

Loved these biscuit donuts in the air fryer!!! Out of this world!! I bought Kroger brand jumbo version and they did not taste like a biscuit. They tasted like a fluffy donut!! I only made half of the package because I it was only my husband and I. I would make more and have a variety of toppings. Like glaze, cinnamon and sugar, or iced for next time. We had one separate but it was OK. Only when I went to cover in the cinnamon mixture. My husband ate that one and he asked why did it separate, lol. I did not tell him it was biscuit dough. Lol. Anyway so easy and extremely yummy! I would have eaten the whole package if I was by myself and would have regret they were so good!

Ohmyword! I’m so excited to try these! These donuts (fried in Crisco) have been a Saturday morning treat since I was a little girl. About 10 years ago I just started quartering the biscuits & calling them beignets I told my girls we should make these all at the same time since we all live in different parts of the country’

  14. If you use 2 cup powder sugar 2tbof milk in and dip them in then you will have glaze donuts it was good to

    1. If you don’t pre heat won’t turn out. Preheat at 330 then turn to 360 to make.

  15. Way back when, these were all the rage and deep fried.  Instead of cutting out a donut hole, you can put your finger through the center of the biscuit or use something else to poke through.  No donut hole, unless you want one.  I will be trying these soon.

Serve still warm before the texture goes back to being a cold biscuit. My family has been deep-frying canned biscuits to make donuts since about 1961. We found the cheapest products of canned biscuits seem to work the best. I’m about to test some cheap ones. I’ll use a glazed approach.

We made these with the Sweet Hawaiian Flaky Biscuits (we bought them by accident). They were wonderful. We will be making them again!

These donuts were great and so easy to do! I bought a small can of biscuits since it is just two of us. I dipped the donuts in the melted butter instead of brushing them and then used two bowls to pour the cinnamon and sugar over the donuts. By pouring the cinnamon and sugar back and forth between bowls I was able to get the donuts with a better covering. Next time I am going to try shaking the donuts in a paper bag with the cinnamon and sugar instead of dipping them and rolling them in the mixture. Would be a great recipe for kids or grandkids to make with you!

    1. Our biscuits (at least the ones in this recipe) come from an air packed can. They are used usually at breakfast to put jam on or stuff with breakfast meats like bacon or sausage. The closest thing y’all may have is a scone. If y’all have a buttermilk scone then even better. I hope that helps.

For holiday fun, I used little holiday cookie cutters. So the donuts have gingerbread man, trees and snowflakes.

    1. I just tried to track it just now. It said 5 pts.although not sure what 113kcals means.
