Bloody Mary Ingredients

While there are some decent Bloody Mary mixes you can buy online or in the stores, but making your own bloody Mary mix at home guarantees a fresh mix that makes a big difference.

Vodka: You can use any kind of vodka for this recipe, but unflavored works the best with brands like Titos, Effen, Ketel One or Smirnoff #57. You can spice up your homemade Bloody Mary using these flavored vodkas for something different. Leaving out the vodka all together is also an option if you do not drink alcohol.

Juice: You will need of course tomato juice as well as lemon juice which will add flavor. I use regular tomato juice as the base, but you can also use V-8 juice or Clamato that have built in flavor.

Sauce: Using hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce will give the drink a spicy and smokey flavor.

How To Make Bloody Mary

Step 1. Place the ice into a large tall serving glass. Put in the vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, and pepper and combine until fully incorporated.

Step 2. Finish off by adding your favorite toppings for garnish and serve. Enjoy!

Tips for Making the Best Bloody Mary

Have plenty of ice. Bloody Mary’s are best when served cold. Fill the glasses to the top with ice, and refrigerate the Mary mix before serving.

Rim the glasses with salts or herbs. Pour whatever salts you prefer on small plates and pour a small amount of water on another small plate. Roll the rim of the glass in the water and then in the salt or seasonings.
