Easy Lemon Donut Holes

These Easy Lemon Donut Holes are so good! You just roll up some pre-made biscuits and pop them into the heated oil to fry. After you are finished cooling them, you dip them into a delicious lemon glaze that is made with only 3 ingredients. You can devour these glazed lemon donuts with other breakfast recipes like Baked Lemon Donuts or Lemon Cranberry Muffins. You can start your morning off great with this amazing recipe!

Ingredients

  • Biscuits- You will be needing the Pillsbury Grands Homestyle Brand.
  • Vegetable oil- You can substitute this with canola oil for frying.
  • Powdered Sugar- This sugar is the best for a home-made glaze.
  • Lemon Juice- Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavoring.
  • Liquor- You will be using Lemon Liquor for this recipe.

How to Make Lemon Donut Holes

Pour 4 cups of oil into a Dutch oven and let it heat to 350 degrees.

Begin preparing your biscuits by cutting into fourths.

Use your hands to roll the biscuit pieces in your hands.

Take out a baking sheet and place a layer of paper towels down.

Add the biscuit balls into the heated oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they are light brown.

Repeatedly flip the balls over in the oil for even cooking.

Take the finished biscuits out and set them on the paper towel-lined sheet pan.

Allow them to cool while making the glaze.

Make the Lemon Glaze:

Combine the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and liquor into a medium bowl and whisk to combine.

Dip the cooled donut holes into the glaze.

Serve and Enjoy!

Can I Make Full Donuts Instead?

You can absolutely make bigger donuts out of this recipe. Make sure to have the time and temp, so you’re not over or undercooking. Also, make sure to make a triple in size amount of glaze to have enough to coat a full donut.

How Do I Keep Donut Holes Fresh?

Storing your donuts the correct way is what keeps them fresh. Depending on whether you decide to eat them right away or in a little while matters. If you’re immediately wanting to eat them, just place them in a sealed container at room temperature which will last up to 2 days. If not right away, then place it into the fridge.
