Southern Peach Tea

This Peach Tea is so good and easy to make. The peach flavoring in this recipe is so refreshing and perfect for a hot day just like our Strawberry Peach Tea. This recipe only uses a handful of ingredients and can be made in no time. If you love sipping on this drink, try enjoying it with a treat like this Peach Pie Cupcakes or these Easy Peach Pie Bars.

Ingredients

  • Tea Bags- You will need Lipton tea bags for this recipe.
  • Water- This will be heated in the saucepan.
  • Peaches- You will be using canned sliced peaches, pureed
  • Sugar- This will be used as a sweetener for the tea.

How to Make Southern Peach Tea

First, add 4 cups of water into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.

Secondly, add in the tea bags and let them sit and steep for 5 minutes.

Thirdly, take out the tea bags and discard them, then set them aside to cool.

While the tea is cooling, prepare the simple syrup mixture:

To start, place one cup of sugar and one cup of water into a small saucepan.

Next, combine the mixture over medium heat until it dissolves, then bring to a slight boil, then take away from the heat.

Now add the tea and simple syrup into a large pitcher and combine.

Finally, pour in the peach puree and the rest of the 4 cups of cool water and combine.

Keep in the fridge until ready to serve.

Enjoy over ice and top with peach slices for garnish, if desired.

Can I Make Peach Tea Using Canned Peaches?

Yes, you can use canned peaches for this recipe. You will need to drain the juice from the canned peaches. Then, puree the peaches and add to the tea. If you want to use frozen peaches, you will need to cook them first to make them soft enough to puree for the recipe.

What Type of Tea I Best For This Recipe?

This recipe uses Lipton Tea Bags for this recipe. Lipton is the most common tea used for chilled tea recipes.

Ingredients
  

Ingredients for tea:

  • 6- Lipton tea bags regular size
  • 8 cups water divided in half
  • 1- 15 oz can peach slices pureed

Ingredients for Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, begin heating 4 cups of water. Once the water begins to boil, add the 6 tea bags and allow them steep for about 5 minutes. Remove and throw away the tea bags when finished. Set the tea aside to cool.
  • While the tea is cooling, prepare the simple syrup mixture:
  • Using a small saucepan, combine one cup of water and one cup of sugar. On medium heat, stir the sugar and water together until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to lightly boil, then remove from heat.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the tea and the simple syrup. To finish the tea, add in the pureed peaches and the remaining four cups of cool water, stirring all of the ingredients together.
  • Keep chilled and serve over ice.
  • Optional: Garnish with peach slices and fresh mint.
