These chocolate blackout cookies are so delicious and easy to make. This recipe will be done in no time because it only uses a handful of ingredients.   • Butter– Use unsalted to control the amount of salt in the recipe.
  • Eggs– Use these at room temperature.
  • Cake Mix– You will need chocolate cake mix.
  • Chocolate Chips– You will need mini and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Heavy Whipping Cream– This will help with the consistency of the ganache.

How to Make Blackout Cookies

To start, set the oven to 350 degrees, and use parchment paper to line two cookie sheets.

First, add the melted butter, eggs, chocolate cake mix, and one cup of chocolate chips into a large bowl and combine.

Secondly, using a cookie scoop, arrange the dough onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Thirdly, place the cookie sheets into the oven for 9-11 minutes, or until it firms on top.

Next, take the cookie sheets out of the oven and set them aside to cool while you make the ganache.

Chocolate Ganache Directions 

To start, add the heavy whipping cream into a small pot and bring to a simmer.

First, in a heat-safe bowl, add in one cup of chocolate chips.

Secondly, add the heated whipping cream into the chocolate chip bowl and allow it to rest for one minute before combining until smooth.

Thirdly, add the panache into a squeeze bottle.

Next, transfer the cooled cookies to a wire rack over a cookie sheet.

In addition, begin adding a good amount of the ganache on top of the finished cookies and allow it to fall down the sides.

Furthermore, you will want to add some of the mini chocolate chips on top of the ganache.

Finally, let the ganache set and harden before serving.

  • Pour 1 C of chocolate chips into a heat-safe bowl.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for 1 minute before whisking until smooth
  • Pour the ganache into a squeeze bottle
  • Place the cookies onto a wire rack over a cookie sheet
  • Squeeze a nice size amount of the ganache onto the top of the cookies and allow it to pour over the cookies
  • Sprinkle a few mini chocolate chips on top of the cookies
  • Allow the ganache to set before enjoying the cookies!
