Easy to make and the family loves it . Very simple if you use the Success Rice (just cut open the bags and dump them in – no boiling required) . Use WHOLE MILK !!!
Thanks Maureen!
Hello, what size success rice did you use? 3.5 x 2 or the larger ones 5.33 x 2?
Absolutely luv it ❤
How much rice????
If using your own rice you will want to use approximately 1 1/2 cups of uncooked rice.

Best easy recipe for rice pudding without the hassle
Do you need to cook rice before put in crockpot.
Question….my grandkids are dairy free…has anyone made this with a “plant milk?”
This recipe needs to be clearer . But if u get the regular box of success rice, those bags are 1 cup of rice so u would need 4 bags of that rice.
One bag of success rice is 2 cups of rice so if recipe calls for two bags, than you would use 4 cups total of any rice.
That conversion is 2 cups COOKED rice. For the success large bag, it is 5.5 ounces uncooked. so you would need 11 ounces uncooked. We are going to try 2 cups uncooked white rice.
Lori, *update*, we did 2 cups uncooked white rice (not success), and it was too much rice. I think 1.5 cups uncooked rice is probably good.
Do you boil the rice before adding or to the crockpot?
MaryAnn, no just add the uncooked rice to the crockpot.
Please provide the measurement/weight of parboiled dry rice to use…. thank you!
How much rice is in the boil in bags? I would prefer to use minute rice because it’s on hand, but I don’t know the quantity
This recipe calls for 4 cups of cooked rice.
why success rice? Can I use minute rice?
Hi Pat, minute rice is fine to use.
How many cups of regular white rice is equivalent to each bag of success rice?
One bag yields 2 cups cooked rice.
Can you tell us how much minute rice to use?
Hi Rosemary, use 2 bags. The amounts are in the recipe card near the bottom of the page.
I know it says to use boil in the bag of rice, but have you tried instant rice before, and if so, how did that work?
