This eye-popping Rainbow Margarita is a delicious twist on a classic frozen margarita! Each layer has flavors like cherry, mango, orange, melon , blue raspberry and grape.

layered Rainbow Margarita

This insanely vibrant rainbow margarita is so delicious and although there are a lot of layers, it is very easy to put together. Each layer consists of less than 5 ingredients and once made, you just stack until the glass is full! The layers combine into an ultra-fruity blend of sweet, tart, and tangy flavors with pops of tequila!

Why You’ll Love This Layered Rainbow Margarita

  • Visually Amazing. The vibrant colors are so beautiful and will impress everyone at your next party. Perfect for Cinco de Mayo!
  • Flavor. It’s so nice to have a different flavor for each layer and all of them are delicious!
  • Easy. You don’t have to be a skilled bartender to make this fancy margarita cocktail. Once you blend each layer you place the mixture in the fridge and then pour the frozen mixture into layers in a glass.

Ingredients Needed

  • Alcohol: grenadine liquor for the red layer, tequila, and mango margarita mix for the yellow, melon liquor for the green layer, blue Curacoa for the blue layer, and more tequila for the orange and purple layers.
  • Flavoring: You need cherry punch, grenadine syrup, orange soda, orange syrup, melon syrup, blue raspberry syrup, coconut water, and grape soda for flavoring each layer.
  • Food Coloring: I like to use neon yellow, orange, neon green, neon blue, and purple for the colors.
The cocktail garnished with cherries.

How To Make A Rainbow Margarita

It’s easier than you think!

  • Make your different flavors. Add each individual layer of ingredients into a blender and combine on high until smooth. Add into a pitcher and place it into the freezer.
  • Assemble. Start layering the different colors into each glass using a small ice cream scooper. Start with the purple layer and put it into the glass. Follow with a layer of the blue mixture, then the green, then orange, next yellow, and finally red until the glass is full. Gently tap the glass on the counter to allow the layers to settle. Use a spatula to even the layers as needed. Garnish and enjoy!

Serving

This rainbow margarita cocktail is very bright and colorful and doesn’t need much to garnish it. But, I love adding fresh fruits like lime wedges, pineapple or cherries along with other toppings like whipped cream, sprinkles, etc.

Tips

  • Chill the glass to keep your drink cool for longer.
  • Serving a crowd – feel free to double or triple the recipe as needed.
  • No blender? If you don’t have a blender, you can use crushed ice instead.
