Snickers Apple Salad Recipe
I can remember the first time Snickers salad was mentioned to me. My best friend was bringing a treat to a family dinner, and when she explained what it was, I thought she was crazy. She was definitely anything but crazy. Combining the delicious flavor of a Snickers bar with tart apples, whipped cream, and cream cheese is nothing short of genius.
So if you’re craving a dessert that’s both light and indulgent, this fluffy snickers salad is a must-try. The combination of crunchy apples and chunks of chewy Snickers bars make it impossible to resist. I love sweet and fruity “salads”. Mixing whipped cream with fruit is so yummy! Ingredients Needed
The only ingredients you’ll need to make Snickers apple salad are listed below. The recipe card below has measurements and more information.
- Heavy cream: I use heavy cream to make fluffy homemade whipped cream, which is added to the salad for a light texture.
- Powdered sugar: I add this as a sweetener for the whipped cream and cream cheese. It doesn’t add a gritty texture like granulated sugar would.
- Cream cheese: I use cream cheese as part of the base to balance the sweetness with creaminess and tang. Ensure it has softened so there aren’t any lumps when you mix it.
- Apples: I prefer a firm, tart apple for this recipe. I use Granny Smith.
- Snickers: Chopped Snickers are folded into the salad and then added as a garnish.
How to Make this Snicker Salad Recipe
Putting this Snicker salad together is easier than ever. All you have to do is combine the ingredients — no baking or chilling required!
- Beat the heavy cream. Pour the heavy cream into a medium mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to whisk the cream until it forms stiff peaks.
- Add powdered sugar. Stir the powdered sugar into the whipped cream until it is well combined.
- Beat the cream cheese. Add the cream cheese to a separate mixing bowl and beat it until smooth and creamy.
- Add whipped cream. Beat in half of the sweetened whipped cream. Then, fold in the remaining whipped topping until it is well combined.
- Cut apples. Chop the apples into bite-sized pieces and add them to the cream cheese mixture.
- Chop Snickers. Next, cut the Snickers bars into small pieces and add them to the bowl.
- Combine all the ingredients. Fold the chopped apples and Snickers into the creamy mixture.
- Garnish and serve. Transfer it to a serving bowl. Then, top it with extra Snickers and a drizzle of caramel and enjoy!
Tips and Serving Ideas
- No need to peel the apples: I leave the skin on the apple pieces for color and texture.
- Toppings: Some of my favorite garnishes for this Snickers salad are Homemade Caramel Sauce, Butterscotch Sauce, Chocolate Syrup, and peanuts.
- Don’t freeze leftovers: This recipe doesn’t freeze well. The first thing to know here is that this is something best served immediately after making. It’s a great recipe, but not one that does extremely well if you make a day ahead. If you do make it the day before, you may want to use some lemon or lime juice to keep the apples from browning.
Best Apples To Use
The best apples to use for this recipe depend on your taste. If you are looking for a sweet apple flavor, Golden or Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp work well. If you are looking for a tart taste, then Granny Smith apples, McIntosh, or Pink Lady are what you want. I prefer a tart apple to balance the sweetness of the Snickers and whipped cream.
Proper Storage
Leftovers can be stored tightly covered in a large bowl or an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Stir well before serving!
