Can I Make Peach Iced Tea Using Fresh Peaches?

Yes! You will need to cook the peaches first to make them soft enough to puree and proceed with directions.

  1. Cooking fresh peaches. In a medium saucepan combine 3 ripe peaches and 1.5 cups of water and bring to a boil over high heat until the peaches are soft.
  2. Puree. Transfer the cooked peaches into a blender and puree until smooth. Pour the peach puree through a fine mesh strainer to remove any clumps .

What Type of Tea Is Best?

Any black tea bags made for brewed iced tea will work well or even green tea. The brands Lipton and Luzianne each have their own special blends for iced tea and are probably the most well known, but any iced tea blend will work fine.

Hi Kensee. For best taste I would only make a day ahead of time although it will keep for a few days.

  3. Valerie says:

It’s SO much easier to add sugar into hot tea bag water when your tea bags steep. This is the way we have made our sweet tea for generations. Just add a cup of water, hot immediately or cold as it cools, and you’re done. No extra pan to wash !

  4. Tami G says:

Do you use peaches in juice or heavy syrup? And just double checking…do you strain peaches or use the liquid in the tea as well?

    1. Jill says:

Hi Tami. You will use strained peaches, preferably in juice, since you are making the simple syrup to add.

    2. Tami G says:

      Ok, thank you.
