In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the 2/3 cup granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, just until combined.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture and stir until combined. Add the milk and mix until smooth.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread out evenly.

In a small mixing bowl, combine the apple filling ingredients.

Pour half of the apples over the batter in the pan.

Spread on the remaining batter.

Top with the remaining apples and press the apples down slightly.

Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over top of the bread.

Bake at 350ºF for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for about 30 minutes. In a small bowl, combine the glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.

Can you freeze this bread?
Hi Robin. Yes, it freezes well. Wrap in plastic wrap and then foil or put in an airtight container.
Good to know!
It was amazing. My family loved it. I made a brandy sauce for the top. Absolutely delicious!
Thanks Tracy!
This was amazing. My family and I loved it!
Thanks Cindy! Glad your family enjoyed it.
Made this and it is wonderful will be making again and again
My family, my children absolutely loved this!! Thank you! So delicious!!
Thanks Regina!
Love love the recipe. But I did change it for the better. I used approximately (more or less) 3.5 cups of apples and I mixed 2 cups throughly in the batter instead of layering it and the rest of the apples I sprinkled on top of the batter once it’s in the pan and followed the rest of the recipe.
Sounds great Sue. Thanks!
This turned out amazing!! Made 2 at first but will definitely be making more as holiday gifts! Our apple orchard produced so many I was running out of ideas!!
Thanks Angelica!
This is a huge hit for all my friends and clients. The bread is gone in 5 minutes and comes put perfect every time!
Glad to hear it Cat. Thanks!
Going to make this today [ already got the ingredients out]… if it turns out as well as I think it will…… will be making a loaf as a welcome for our new neighbors then am thinking Thanksgiving treats/Thanks for family
I wonder – I have a 9×5 inch loaf pan – is it possible to use this or should I spring for a new slightly smaller size pan to make this yummy-sounding recipe? Many thanks!
Hi Liz. The 9×5 would work for this bread as well.
Love the junky bites of apple in each bite. Personal preference reduced cinnamon. Glaze on top adds a special touch 10-2023
Moist, cinnamony sweet, amazing apple flavour.
Can you use apple pie filling from a can?
Hi Peg. Fresh apples are preferable, but you can use apple pie filling as well with good results.
Fantastic recipe,so tasty with my coffee.Hubby loved it.
Thanks Cindy!
This bread was awesome, only problem is trying to cut it without falling apart. I made into muffins, no need to cut.
Hi Linda, how long baking in the muffin tins. Thank you
Absolutely delicious
I was so looking forward to making this. Not sure what I did wrong. I couldn’t even cut the bread, it was so crumbly and wouldn’t hold together.
Mine too
Fantastic! Because I wasn’t paying attention, I added about half of the topping mixture to the apples before realizing is it TOPPING! . I think I’ll likely do that again because it turned out amazing! I did use parchment to more easily remove it from the pan. I’ll be making another one tomorrow since the first one is already gone! Thank you for such a lovely recipe’
My family eats this out of the pan. I add butterscotch chips, and sometimes put dollops of cream cheese in it.
Amish Apple Fritter Bread was a success, tastes great! Have baked twice and is best the next day.
