  1. I’m torn I want to like these but subbing diet Dr Pepper may have changed everything. They were moist and spongy and very dark chocolate bitter which I attribute to the cocoa power. I’ll give them a go again with regular Dr Pepper.

  2. I’m following the scratch recipe verbatim but with diet Dr Pepper. It was super foamy initially (from the sugar and aspartame, I guess). We’ll see how they bake up.
I think my pan is only 8×8… but I’m excited for results and will follow up. 🙂

  3. Made these for my sons birthday (Dr Pepper is and has always been his favorite drink), but made them with special dark cocoa powder and mini chocolate chips along with some chopped pecans. They were the absolute best and easiest brownies we’ve ever had. I would leave the nuts out from now on but what was so good about them was when we had one with van ice creM and a drizzle of chocolate syrup, the flavor was not so icky sweet as regular brownies. It was wonderful!!

  4. Please discard the review I wrote. I was looking at one recipie and wrote about yours. Tahnk you and I am very sorry for the mix up.

Oh my! Made these and they were gone the next day. So from the start I messed up the recipie. I melted two sticks of butter. I don’t know where I got that from. So I did not add the 3 Tablespoons of oil. Then I used dark chocloate cocoa powder. I didn’t even notice that until the nest day! The dash of cinnamon is what distacted me. It just adds wonderful flavor. Mu husband even commented on the flavor. Will make again!

  6. I made the Dr Pepper brownies, but they didn’t look anything like yours. The consistency looked different too.  The recipe only has the Dr Pepper for liquid? Just to confirm it called for 2/3 cup of cocoa? It was very spongee (if that is a word)
Just curious if I did something wrong?

  7. If you’re using the boxed brownie mix; you don’t have to add anything but the Dr Pepper and the chocolate chips. This would be a lower calorie recipe and you can actually use any flavor of soda pop you want it like orange crush cherry for instants. Use a diet soda for less calories.  Ie diet cherry dip raspberry soda

Pam… when you use the box mix did you change how much Dr Pepper you put in

  8. Can you use sugar substitute, and diet Dr Pepper, for this recipe. It looks great but am on Keto diet, and cant have regular sugar. I can’t wait to try it if possible.

Loved this recipe! So moist, gooie, decadent, and chocolatey. The Dr Pepper gives it a interesting flavor without being overpowering, subtle but yummy. Cut way back on the sugar (1/3 cup) and used whole wheat pastry flour and dark chocolate chips. Made for a coworker’s birthday and got rave reviews. Never got the toothpick to come out clean and seemed to over cook the edges for some reason. Could have been my oven, not sure it’s staying the correct temperature. But really enjoyed and will make again!

Toothpick should never come out clean for brownies if you put chocolate chips in them because they melt and make them gooey on the inside

I just did and they turned out great! I used a gluten free flour mixture that has xanthin gum in it.   This was my first time making them. My husband is allergic to eggs, so this is a great brownie recipe for us!

I made these last night and they’re fantastic! I love the flavor. Dr Pepper has always been one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing!
