This Peach Pie Recipe is so delicious and perfect for Summer! This is one of the easiest homemade pie recipes you can ever make and loaded with fresh peaches.

Peach pie is a classic southern dessert that we make often here in Georgia. Once you make this classic homemade peach pie from scratch, you will never want to use canned pie filling again. And since this is so easy to make, you won’t ever need to!
Why You’ll Love This Homemade Peach Pie Recipe
- Super easy to make! Using a store-bought pie crust keeps things simple. The peach filling itself comes together quickly with lots of fresh peaches and common ingredients.
- Perfect for summer. An abundance of fresh peaches is one of my favorite signs that summer is here. This pie is a great way to take advantage of fresh peaches. It’s great for parties and outdoor BBQ’s!
- Made with fresh peaches. There are 7 juicy peaches in this recipe. No frozen, watery peaches here. There’s just something about using fresh fruit in pie!
Ingredients Needed
All you need is a handful of staple ingredients including fresh peaches.
- Premade pie crust – You can use your favorite homemade pie crust recipe or use store-bought.
- Peaches – You want large ripe fresh peaches.
- Lemon juice – This helps to keep the peaches from turning brown and adds a nice flavor.
- Sugars – Granulated sugar and light brown sugar.
- Spices – Cinnamon, nutmeg and kosher salt.
- Cornstarch – this acts as a thickener for the peach pie filling.
How to Make Peach Pie
This is a super easy pie recipe. The only time consuming part is making the lattice top, but it’s pretty simple and fun to make.
- Unroll the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie plate.
Peach Pie Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches and the lemon juice.
- Add the sugars, spices, salt and cornstarch.
- Place the pie filling mixture into the bottom crust pie shell.
Prepare and Bake
- Create the lattice top for the top crust by cutting the pie dough into strips and lay half of the strips horizontally.
- Weave the other strips in place vertically.
- Brush the pie with egg wash and then bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Allow the pie to cool completely.
Serving
You can serve the pie fresh from the oven when it is almost cooled or you can serve it straight from the refrigerator. I like to serve the pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Storing
Peach pie is best stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. You can also freeze the pie for up to 4 months. Make sure the pie is covered completely!
