The Easiest Ravioli Bake

I love 30-minute meals. As a parent, there’s not always time to make a fully home-cooked meal from scratch but I still want to give my kids a yummy tummy-filling dinner. Bake ravioli is one that they request over and over. They love pasta and ravioli is always a great go-to in our house. With this pasta bake, there’s no boiling needed! All of the ingredients go straight into your casserole dish and then into the oven. It saves so much prep time!

Did I mention this meal is also vegetarian? You don’t need meat to have a satisfying dinner. To be honest, some kids are not too into the meat anyway when they’re young and that’s okay! They will still enjoy this cheesy, saucy, pasta meal.

We love recipes using ravioli like our yummy Fried Ravioli. If you are wanting a more lasagna style baked ravioli that includes a Italian sausage meat sauce mozzarella cheese and spaghetti sauce, try our Ravioli Casserole.

How to Make Fresh Baked Ravioli

It’s so fast to prepare and bake. Probably one of the quickest meals I’ve ever made for my family and we love it. Full directions in the recipe box below.

  • Preheat and prep. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and generously grease your 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Start making layers. Next, you be layering your ingredients. Start by spreading half of the marinara at the bottom of the dish. Then, arrange half the ravioli and sprinkle with half of the parmesan. Repeat for the second layer.
  • Cover and bake. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about 20 minutes.
  • Garnish and serve. Remove from the oven once hot and garnish with parsley if desired. Enjoy!

How To Make Baked Frozen Ravioli

You will follow the directions in the recipe box, but just add a little more time.

Cover the prepared ravioli with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, until hot in the center and the cheese is bubbly and starting to lightly brown.

Variations

Add-ins: If you are missing the protein, you can add some if you like! Ground chicken, ground turkey or ground beef are great choices. Make sure whatever you choose is fully cooked before adding it to the baked ravioli. We also like to add in veggies like cooked bell peppers, spinach, onions, zucchini or broccoli.

Pasta: Instead of ravioli you can use gnocchi or another stuffed pasta like tortellini. Switch it up and make it your own.

Sauce: Use traditional marinara or even a cheesy alfredo sauce. Pick whatever pasta sauce sounds good to you!

How Do I Store and Reheat Leftovers?

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. I don’t recommend freezing any of this meal.

To reheat, it is best in the oven. Put the leftovers in an oven-safe dish and cover them with aluminum foil. Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until heated through at 400 degrees F.
