Valentine Lady Bug Oreos

These lady bug Oreos are so fun for Spring and Valentine’s Day! Anytime you offer me a new way to eat an Oreo, I’m excited! I know the school kids would love these for a fun class party idea.

Lady Bug Oreos

Lady Bug Oreos

Makes 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 package of double stuffed Oreos
  • 1 bag of Ghiradelli dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 bag of red candy melts
  • Parchment paper
  • cookie sheet
  • Double Boiler
  • 1 package of small edible eyes
  • 1 wilton mini pink hearts
  • 1 disposable piping bag



Lady Bug Oreos

Directions

  1. Using a double boiler, place water into the bottom pot. Once the water is boiling, place the top pot on top
  2. Pour in the red candy melts into the top pot and while using a rubber spatula, mix until melted.
  3. Mix in 2 tbsp of coconut oil and mix until smooth
  4. Dip an Oreo cookie into the the red candy melt and completely submerge it
  5. Using a fork, carefully pick up the Oreo and lightly tap onto the edge to get rid of the excess candy melt
  6. Repeat steps with remaining cookies
  7. Let harden for about an hour before doing the next step
  8. Once the red is harden, melt the milk chocolate in the double boiler
  9. Dip the tip of the Oreo into the chocolate for the face of the lady bug
  10. Repeat with the remaining Oreos
  11. Place two eyes onto the center of the chocolate part for the eyes of the lady bug
  12. Scoop some melted chocolate into the piping bag and cut the tip off
  13. Pipe a line down the center for the lady bug
  14. Using the piping bag, alternate big and small dots around on the lady bug
  15. Place mini pink hearts onto the small dots
  16. Let the lady bugs completely dry before enjoying!
