Tips and Tricks

  • Storing Leftovers: Store any leftover turkey in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to 3 days and can be used in salads, sandwiches, or reheated for another meal.
  • Making Gravy: The pan juices from the roast turkey make a fabulous homemade turkey gravy.
  • Additional Aromatics: Along with the onion, lemons, and garlic, you can also add chopped carrots and celery around the turkey for extra flavor during roasting.
  • If the skin is not browning enough, you can increase the oven temperature to 425°F for the last 15 minutes of cooking. Just make sure to keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.
  • For a twist on traditional flavors, try using different herbs and spices in your seasoning mix. Rosemary, thyme, sage, and even chili powder can add unique and delicious flavors to your roasted turkey breast.
  • Don’t forget to let the turkey rest before slicing! This allows the juices to redistribute, making for a juicier and more flavorful turkey.
