Watermelon Jello Shots
These watermelon jello shots are the perfect party drink! Nothing beats a good old-fashioned jello shot at a party. And these ones are extra special because they’re watermelon flavored but they look just like watermelon. This is one of those cocktail ideas that tastes great but looks great too.
Key Ingredients
- Gelatin- This is the unflavored kind of gelatin. The gelatin is unflavored letting you add the watermelon flavor in with extract and vodka.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk- This is the white layer of the jello shot.
- Mini Chocolate Chips- Since these are seeds of the watermelon, you want to use minis and not full size.
- Watermelon Flavoring- This is the first part of watermelon flavor.
- Vodka- You are using 2 types of vodka. Plain and watermelon. If you can not find watermelon vodka, you can replace the watermelon one with regular and add more watermelon flavor. Check the potency of the regular vodka compared to the watermelon flavored one if you are concerned with the alcohol content.
Can I Use Watermelon Jello Instead of Gelatin
You don’t want to use watermelon gelatin. The color is different than the colors you want in the shot. Also, you can’t make the green color either unless you use lime Jello, which then interferes with the flavor.
