This Chicken in a Blanket appetizer recipe is a crowd-pleaser! They are tender popcorn chicken wrapped in a buttery crescent roll and topped with a sweet and savory glaze.

Chicken Nuggets in a Blanket
These chicken nuggets in a blanket are so simple to make and a fun twist on pigs in a blanket! They are so addictive and always the first thing to go at any party. Each bite is met with crispy chicken and soft crescent dough that’s baked to perfection. The honey mustard glaze balances all of the flavors making this one of our all-time favorite appetizer recipes!
Ingredients Needed
All you need is popcorn chicken, crescent rolls and a handful of ingredients for the glaze.
- Chicken: I like to use pre-made popcorn chicken, but you can use cubed chicken. Making your own popcorn chicken in also a great option!
- Crescent Rolls: My go-to brand of rolls is always Pillsbury. Make the dough from Homemade crescent rolls is fine to use as well.
- Glaze: I combine butter, honey, poppy seeds, dijon mustard, and onion powder (or minced dried onion).
How To Make Chicken in a Blanket
Just 10-15 minutes of prep before baking. Super easy!
- Prepare the bites. Set the oven to 350 degrees. Use parchment paper to line a large baking sheet. Slice the rolls into 3 small triangles before wrapping one piece of the popcorn chicken with one roll. Arrange onto the baking sheet until you have used all the rolls.
- Make the sauce. Add the butter and honey into a small heat-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments until melted. Add in the poppy seeds, mustard, and onion powder, and combine.
- Bake the chicken. Brush the chicken with the prepared glaze. Set in the oven for 15-20 minutes until lightly browned. Serve and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks
- Any brand of popcorn chicken is fine to use, but you can use your favorite kind.
- Extra chicken – You may run out of rolls before the chicken.
- Add some spice – sprinkle on some red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Storing – Place the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Chicken in a Blanket
Ingredients
- 24 ounce bag popcorn chicken
- 1 8-count can crescent rolls
- 4 Tablespoon butter
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 Tablespoon poppy seeds
- 3 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder or minced dried onion
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut each crescent roll triangle into 3 smaller triangles. Roll one piece of popcorn chicken in one piece of crescent roll. Place on the baking sheet and repeat until you run out of crescent rolls.
- In a small microwave, the bowl melts the butter and honey together in 30-second intervals until all melted. Stir in the poppy seeds, mustard, and onion.
- Brush each chicken bite with the glaze. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve!
