The Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make the Cheesy Smothered Chicken with Bacon (the exact measurements and full recipe instructions are below in the easy to print recipe card):

  • Chicken breast – you’ll need 4 thinly sliced boneless skinless chicken breasts. Chicken cut like this is easy to find in the grocery store, but you can also just cut two regular size chicken breasts in half lengthwise to make 4 thin chicken breasts. The thinner chicken breast cutlets will cook through much easier in the oven.
  • Dry ranch dressing seasoning – you can use Hidden Valley seasoning, or any other brand of dry ranch dressing mix that you like.
  • Alfredo sauce – you’ll need one 15 ounce jar, or about 1 3/4 cups of sauce.
  • Provolone cheese – instead of provolone, you could use mozzarella if you prefer.
  • Bacon – cook the bacon while the chicken is baking, then chop it up and add it to the top of the chicken and cheese.
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish – this is optional
