- Cook, store, and freeze. Most crock pot chicken recipes make fantastic leftovers and easy to freeze. If the portions size is too much for just you or a smaller family, make individual portions to store and freeze. This also makes things super easy to grab a quick meal when your busy.
- Buying Chicken: purchase chicken breast when it is on sale. Chicken is easy to freeze in individual portions using sandwich bags, then place into a gallon freezer bag. You can fit quite a few chicken breasts in the large freezer bag.
- Thawing: The frozen chicken can be placed in the refrigerator to thaw overnight, and the placed in the crockpot the next morning.
- Cooking: Always keep the lid closed. Even though it’s temping to open the lid to stir, it’s best to keep the lid closed. Otherwise, the heat gets released and you’ll need to add additional cooking time.
- Clean-up: Put a liner bag in your crock pot to make cleanup super easy! Another option is to spray the inside with cooking spray to help prevent sticking.
